Of all the days not to have my sync cord ... oh well. Come Thursday night (or Friday morning) I will have some fun pics to upload.

The highlight: My father-in-law and I managed to procure (don't ask) some race staff shirts and were hanging around the podium when one of the race organizers came up to us and said, "Hey! ..." (when you're guilty, hearing "hey" is not always good.)

But then, he asked, "Are you the two guys here to see Brent?" Uh ... "Sure," I said, lying through a smile. Long story short, "Brent" was one of the top race honchos who needed some volunteers to help with a particularly important assignment. And ...

We wind up wearing security vests and guarding the start-finish line on the podium side. Right ... in ... front. My father-in-law literally stood on the line at the barrier. Unbelievable.Great finish. Epic day. Everything, from seeing the finish to escorting the riders from the line back to the staging area (I got Ciolek; my father-in-law got Haedo) to watching the podium from right there was memorable.

FYI: Talked to Tyler at the RR trailer and told him he needs to ride with us when he comes to visit his in-laws, who live on Amelia Island. He asked for my phone number and said he'd call.
