CONTADOR IN JEOPARDY..ADDENDUM

Sorry, I meant Alejandro Valverde faces the same problem.  8^(

CONTADOR IN JEOPARDY OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DEFEND TITLE

From news source on Wednesday (0ld news for some):

It appears that CONI, the Italian Olympic Committee has reopened it's inquiry into the Operation Puerto doping scandal and is seeking to bar any riders involved from racing in Italy.  A small part of this year's TDF passes through Italy.  Guilt by association.  Alberto Contador faces the same problem.

...in other news, an Italian (again) was sentenced to 4-1/2 years in prison after being convicted in the cocaine death of Marco Pantani.

Maybe it's time to legalize doping?  Later this weekend, I'll post an article/column from one of the contributing editors at Mountain Bike Magazine from back in '05 when the Tyler Hamilton snafu hit the headlines.  Personally, I do not condone any sort of foreign substance in an athlete's body, but he certainly has a strong argument to the contrary.

Food for thought over beer & peanuts when you're tired of watching football.
